Donors Rally in Support of New Center for Science and Health Professions at UST
It is with gratitude that I share some exciting news regarding our fundraising efforts at UST. Last week, a close friend of the University made an incredibly generous $5 million contribution
in support of the planned Center for Science and Health Professions. This benefactor has asked to remain anonymous but is allowing us to publicize the gift in hopes that it will encourage others to support our campaign.
As you know, the new center will accommodate the growing demand for UST's highly regarded STEM programs as well as the Carol and Odis Peavy School of Nursing. With current facilities well beyond capacity, construction of the new building is the highest and most urgent funding priority of Faith in Our Future: The Campaign for the University of St. Thomas.
The center is expected to cost approximately $47.3 million. To date, we have raised more than $32 million, putting us within approximately $15 million (or more than 68%) of the required amount. Our goal is to raise the remaining funds by June in order to break ground on the building this year and open it to students in early 2017. This goal is achievable, but time is of the essence.
Please join me in a prayer of thanks for the gifts we have already received as well as a petition for our continued success.
With sincere thanks,
David Harvey, Jr.
