The University of St. Thomas launched its new Center for Science and Health Professions building on Thursday, April 6, with a grand opening ceremony in conjunction with its annual Research Symposium, which promotes undergraduate and graduate research. The stunning new center honors the legacy that legendary architect Philip Johnson lent to UST when he designed its academic mall and iconic Chapel of St. Basil.

The University of St. Thomas, a member of the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, broke ground on a new Center for Science and Health Professions on Nov. 12, 2015. The new facility, containing more than 100,000 square-feet of modern lab space and classrooms, will meet the increasing demand for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) degree programs in Houston.

For only the next two weeks, friends of UST have a special opportunity to make a donation via an IRA charitable rollover. On Dec. 16, the Senate reauthorized the IRA charitable rollover through Dec. 31, 2014. A donor age 70 1/2 or older may roll over up to $100,000 from a traditional IRA to a qualified public charity.
